Sticks... On a Plane

This is an informational post.

Did you know that on British Airways** you are now permitted to take on board your knitting needles? I didn't, but apparently you are. On a recent transatlantic route I sat adjacent to a woman with nimble Roadrunner-fast fingers knitting up a gorgeous cabled sweater. She was using tiny US 3 metal circulars - the kind that once might have been presumed dangerous in a poke-your-eye-out / pop-the-life-raft / aspirate-an-injured-castaway's lung kind of way. But no one questioned her, and she knit happily on, finishing about three-quarters of the piece in-flight in between meals and chatting with her husband.

I confirmed the revised regs with the cabin crew, that yes, knitting needles are now allowed on board. So, spread the word!
